WME
I'm going to be on WUSB, a community radio station based at the State University of New York at Stonybrook, starting around 11:15 am ET today (Monday) for up to an hour. I'll be talking mostly about the history of US foreign policy towards Iraq, plus some about exciting opportunities to get gay incest for free.
The station can be heard "on most of Long Island, and in Southern Connecticut, parts of NYC (Brooklyn and Queens), and Westchester County," or you can listen to a streaming webcast here. Or you can pay me to come live in your basement and furnish you with my opinions every day. This option really gives you the most Jon for your dollar.
Posted at August 23, 2004 01:48 AM | TrackBackHeard you on the show today, which isn't bad, since I am up here in Canada and thankfully safe from most of the real evils of living in a country run by Dubya. However...have some comments to make.
Let me say, first, anyone who uses an Ottoman metaphor really scores big with me. This was definitely the high point. Obviously it was lost entirely on the interviewer, who seemed to think that the way to build a controversy was to completely ignore everything you said and bring up an entirely cliche observation for you to shoot down. Sadly, this lack of interplay became exausting, destroying what would probably have become a fairly good interview.
I've been reading your blog (I have grown numb to the word) for about a month now, although I have gone back into the archives. It is good work. Sadly, I have not read any of your work on the magazines you mentioned in your interview, but I wouldn't mind seeing something. I suppose I could google your name, but then I'm lazy...which is probably why I read blogs, and not every newspaper in the country.
Please continue blogging. There isn't enough bitter realism in the world to keep me satisfied for one complete day.
Posted by: Alexis at August 23, 2004 05:12 PMI actually have had Jon in my basement, and there is no question that you get a LOT of Jon for your dollar. Unfortunately, I had him in my basement right after he ran the Boston marathon, so he was mostly unconscious with a silly grin on his face.
I can no longer have Jon in my basement because, well, I have no basement. So the position is still open.
