I Have Returned! With Some Stuff!

1. Congratulations to the Editors at The Poorman, whose material has been transmogrified from words into sounds by NPR's On the Media. I'm pleased to see NPR retained the funniness during the transition.

2. Please join me in saluting Dennis Perrin for starting a sentence "Karl Rove skull-fucking 9/11..."

Read the whole thing, particularly the bit about a recent talk by Seymour Hersh.

3. Zeynep of Under the Same Sun has traveled to her native country of Turkey to participate in the World Tribunal on Iraq. You should read all of her posts here, here, and here.

The last post is partly about a presentation by Tim Goodrich of the organization Iraq Veterans Against the War. IVAW has recently joined the After Downing Street coalition.

Damn! I'd been saving "Karl Rove Skullfucking" for the name of my unnecessarily loud, yet oddly sensitive screamo band.

Now I'll have to settle with my first choice, "Donald Rumsfeld in Leather."

Thanks a fuckin' lot, Dennis Perrin.

I was also at that gathering with Hersh. A couple other things he said: This is the craziest act (re:the Iraq war) that any president of this country has ever committed, that this is the most depressing time in government in the country's history (far worse than the Nixon or Reagan years), that even if Henry Kissinger was involved in this administration/war effort, at least we could imagine it being part of some larger,if evil and nefarious, plan. Hersh maintains that this administration simply has NO IDEA what they are doing, no plan, not even a viable conspiracy. THAT scared the shit out of me.

Oh-- Dennis changed it or I missed it originally. Sorry to be redundant.
