"Mike and Jon, Jon and Mike—I've known them both for years, and, clearly, one of them is very funny. As for the other: truly one of the great hangers-on of our time."—Steve Bodow, head writer, The Daily Show

"Who can really judge what's funny? If humor is a subjective medium, then can there be something that is really and truly hilarious? Me. This book."—Daniel Handler, author, Adverbs, and personal representative of Lemony Snicket

"The good news: I thought Our Kampf was consistently hilarious. The bad news: I’m the guy who wrote Monkeybone."—Sam Hamm, screenwriter, Batman, Batman Returns, and Homecoming

Right On

Max Sawicky:

JAKE TAPPER IS AN IDIOT

Unbelievable...

Whoever said Cindy Sheehan et al were infallible? Not a single fucking person. MaxSpeak will donate $20 bucks to the charity of your choice (I'm no Bill Gates, so back off) for anyone who can produce a quote from someone not posting to Democratic Underground to the effect that Ms. Sheehan or the 9-11 widows are infallible or above criticism for their substantive remarks.

The real problem with said critics is that it is not so easy to immediately dismiss them with ad hominem, the preferred mode of discourse for jingoists, economic royalists, and other political prostitutes of the Right. Ann of a Thousand Remainders is really complaining that she can't employ her usual tools as easily, though for her it wasn't much more difficult, as we have seen.

The mainstream media pundit machine cannot disintegrate into a smoking pile of rubble soon enough for me.

You may read it all.

How can a dollar bill PAY for a Son, a Husband, a Wife, a Daughter, or a Valued Friend. These people have lost MORE than this country is able to pay for or replace. People who would ridicule such, in their grief, have no idea of their ownself value. Would not you or I hope someone would mourn our death, would address any injustice around it?

When all else fails Bush plays the it-would-dishonor-the-fallen-to-leave-without-finishing-the-job card, then a parent who lost a son or daughter -- who still supports the war -- is trotted out, because they are 'infallible'.

Some things are indefensible. Coulter's remarks fall into this category.

Actually if the main-stream pundits disintegrated it would not be a smoking pile of rubble rather it would be a steaming pile of something else. Whoops! They already are.

Perhaps by attacking those who seek the truth, defenders of the adminstration are trying to prevent investigations that will expose what really happened to the Twin Towers and who is actually responsible for the alleged act of terrorism. Annie looks quite psychotic when her dander is up. No further need to wonder now why Bill Maher wants so much to nail her! So do I!!!
