Four Years Later

Sure, Operation Iraqi Freedom is a catastrophe, but Operation Rewrite History is a resounding success!

Four years ago today:

THE PRESIDENT: My fellow citizens, at this hour, American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger.

Our nation enters this conflict reluctantly -- yet, our purpose is sure. The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder. We will meet that threat now, with our Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and Marines, so that we do not have to meet it later with armies of fire fighters and police and doctors on the streets of our cities...

May God bless our country and all who defend her.

Today:

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. Four years ago today, coalition forces launched Operation Iraqi Freedom to remove Saddam Hussein from power. They did so to eliminate the threat his regime posed to the Middle East and to the world. Coalition forces carried out that mission with great courage and skill...

Hmm. I guess Bush wasn't telling the truth.

BTW, check out Red State Son's photo take today. The war is now just an every day thing, like some fluff on the local news.

Very sad. Since Bush is accountable to no one, he and his Administration never had to explain why none of their rationales for invading Iraq ever made sense, and why they felt free to change the story whenever it was convenient.

next year, we will have invaded to provide a bulwark against the threat of iranian aggression.

My concept is that George actually cannot distinguish between the TRUTH and a lie. I'm met people like that. They tell a lie and know it's a lie when they first tell it, but after one or two times it becomes the truth to them. It's like some form of self indoctrination. But since it's George, who cares, I know I don't give a tinkers damn, how much of his own horseshit he's willing to eat. He sure loves to feed it to the public by the platter full. I'll bet Babs ate a truckload of valium raising that whelp.

I've read, and I think it's true, that Operation Iraqi Freedom was originally called Operation Iraqi Liberation, until someone noticed that the acronym was too suggestive.

Once again, I express my wish that all the key members of the Cheney Administration receive a fair trial, and if convicted, punishment to the full extent of the law. However, I've repented from my previous desire to have them ceremonially executed - just keep them in Guantanamo for the rest of their lives (or until Cuba regains sovereignty there - in which case transfer them to Leavenworth).

Re-elect Gore '08.

Jon, I'm going to change the subject because I hate commenting on old posts...

"Dominion Over the World; Also, Be a Good Person" is a terrific headline, something more impressive than the actual post.
