Contemporary Manliness

As we know, the Nixon adminstration was tremendously manly in the early seventies. But the Bush administration exemplifies current day manliness. Here's Michael Gerson, former chief Bush speechwriter, talking about Dan Bartlett and Bush:

“They’re good friends. I can tell the president enjoys his company, enjoys kidding around with him. They share a Texas view of life, and an approach. They both have a casual manner and a manly humor and share a lot of political interests, coming out of that Texas Republicanism.”

For instance:

Speaking of George Bush, with whom Sharon developed a very close relationship, Uri Dan recalls that Sharon's delicacy made him reluctant to repeat what the president had told him when they discussed Osama bin Laden. Finally he relented. And here is what the leader of the Western world, valiant warrior in the battle of cultures, promised to do to bin Laden if he caught him: "I will screw him in the ass!"

Manly!

I wouldn't mind George screwing OSAMA BIN LADEN if he would ARREST AND TRY him afterward, but the way those two carry on, I'm afraid it would end up a life long relationship.

C'mon! It's a known fact they've been fucking each other for years...

This time, Georgie wants his reach around!

JS,

The seeming inconsistency between the two items results from a simple transcription error. Mr. Gerson actually said that the President enjoyed sharing "man-lay humor" with Mr. Bartlett -- just as he did with Ariel Sharon.

Also, thanks for the plug. The butt plug, that is! (I hope your readers will not be distressed to learn that we enjoy sharing man-lay humor as well.)

The Spartans did SCREW a lot of their own in the ass...so did the Athenians...and they were the FOUNDATIONS of manliness in Western culture today.

He is just continuing in a fine old tradition.
