W.W. Beauchamp

I see Stephen "Case Closed" Hayes has written a biography of Dick Cheney.

I think the world would be a better place if from now on everyone began referring to Hayes as "W.W. Beauchamp."

Dick Cheney is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life. Even if he shoots you.

OK, I'm totally missing this one.

Who's W.W. Beauchamp?

Posted by: TB at July 16, 2007 05:04 PM

TB - *cough cough* - it is a reference to the movie "Unforgiven." W.W. Beauchamp was the clueless novelist in the movie who made his living writing "truthy" accounts of certain characters in the movie. He wrote of how things should be, how he and his readers wanted them to be, rather than the vicious and nasty way they actually were.

There was a point in the movie when he was in the middle of an ugly confrontation, and let's just say he let his fear "flow" in an entirely embarrassing way.

God, I love that movie. Also, I am half drunk. Good night, everybody!
