Blurg

Rick Perlstein tells a dreadfully sad story involving his grandmother and Fox News, here.

There really are no words for people who make it their life's work to encourage Americans to hate and fear each other. By contrast, some days it seems like it's only anti-American America-haters like us who actually like other Americans.

BLURG: Borrowed from here.

Come on, it's not like that it's that BIG A DEAL for most old people to develop reactionary views of life, with or without external provocation. The mind, aged and senile, is rarely as sharp and capable of critical thinking as the mind in its youth. I already sharply diverge with my parents and grandparents over most matters. But that is how families move on, grow, and develop. It is only the natural way of things.

"...and if you are not a reactionary by the age of 80, then you have no dementia."

See, but there are words for people who encourage Americans to hate and fear each other. And we should find them and use them constantly, and unashamedly, when those people come up.
Hatemonger.
Sower-of-Dischord.
Demagogue.
Eliminationist.
