Which Is It?

Exciting Washington insiders party, or literal hell on earth?

Favorite part:

[Robert Bennett] said that "I will not support any Democrat who stands on the platform with Al Sharpton, and you can quote me on that."

Bennett's clients have included Bill Clinton, Judith Miller, Casper Weinberger, Clark Clifford and Paul Wolfowitz. So you can see how deeply he cares about holding up the highest ethical standards.

How did Bill Clinton make it onto that list? A couple of blowjobs, which the poor country boy lied about because he interpreted them as foreplay but not really sex, and he's in there with the ultimate insider Clifford and "the Russians are coming down the Fulda Gap" Casper?
Hillary will have to lock him in the WH basement.

How did Bill Clinton make it onto that list?

To start with, he helped kill 500,000-1,000,000 Iraqis.

Possibly only in the low hundred thousand range--there's a debate about the number of sanctions deaths just like the current one over the post-2003 situation.

Clinton also sold F-16's to Turkey when they were slaughtering Kurds during the PPK's revolt. (The PPK is also not a very kind organization, but it's not like I think we should have been arming them instead.) So Clinton's the usual sort of Presidential scumbag.

The Clinton/Gore people also initially sided with the pharmaceutical companies against South Africa on the question of manufacturing AIDS drugs cheaply. They switched when ACT-UP protestors started showing up at Gore campaign rallies, or so I've read. (Back then, and also recently, in fact, but don't remember where).

Okay, okay, it was not the Spenglerian connection I was denying, just joking about the positive part of his legacy: Monica. With a thong in our hearts.

Wasn't Bennett involved in the three Duke lacrosse players situation? If so, maybe he's sore at Al Sharpton over that. I recall Al saying some stupid things early on. Or maybe he's just saying that Al Sharpton is such poison that it's unwise for a candidate to be in the same jurisdiction as him.

Someone then yelled Vilsack, and folks went silent, pondering that.

Well, we've all been there, haven't we? You're at a party, someone yells "Vilsack!" and everyone falls silent. Usually it's right before they break out the lube and anal beads .

And, if I had been at that party, when the "Who's the next President?" question came 'round to me, I would have said, "Fred Thompson and his hot young wife", just so I could see Margaret Carlson cry.
