Curious
I wonder how many of Bernie Madoff's victims voted for Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush? I bet they're glad they got the government off their backs.
Of course, I'm sure many of them voted for Bill Clinton, who helpfully ended the era of big government when it did things like investigate massive financial fraud.

Dollars?
Hahaha. You ain't never getting your wealth back dickhead.
Or if you really want to owe some money... American citizenship?
Posted by: tim at March 13, 2009 12:18 AMIt would have been nice to have had a trial. Years ago, when I was called for jury duty, the judge went on at length to explain that a fair trial was not the exclusive right of the defendant. We all have a right to get at the truth. I think we've been cheated.

Posted by: Mike Meyer at March 13, 2009 02:51 PMBob,
Trials are so inconvenient. They tend to produce evidential trails that lead one to conclusions not merely about what WAS done by the guilty party, but also about what WAS NOT done by those charged with the responsibilities to monitor and preempt the criminal acts. Can't have that. Might tend to lead to skepticism towards the free market religion so ardently espoused by our bi-partisan elites.

Posted by: tim at March 14, 2009 03:36 AMLarge numbers of people will tell you that they voted for x over y just because they perceived him to be more authentic and likeable, which never ceases to exasperate me.
And the war doesn't seem to matter either, liberal protestations notwithstanding. I've told so many Obama boosters that his politics are essentially the same as the less charismatic Kerry's, only to encounter befuddlement.

Posted by: drip at March 16, 2009 07:38 AMBob: I believe in " If YOU get charged, YOU get a JURY Trial. Innocent People COMMONLY plead guilty because of TORTURE, FEAR, or INTIMIDATION. These NEVER give the TRUTH. THAT'S WHY WE have JURY Trials. To FIND THE TRUTH. I believe guilty pleas should be entered in the body of evidence in a JURY Trial. The Defendant maybe LYING.
