Robert Reich Has the Right Idea

From Politico:

Robert Reich, the former Labor secretary, scholar and commentator, called Tuesday for a “march on Washington” on Sept. 13 —“Grandparents Day” — in support of a health care bill that offers a public option.

Allow me to suggest a parade route.

The march must be onn a week day so media covers it.

And hte march must include Sit ins at the media.

Actually Sunday might be good, since it's usually a slow news day, little to compete with.

Posted by: akak at August 22, 2009 08:12 PM

Nothing could possibly compete with David Gregory or George Stephanopoulos, MSM wouldn't interrupt one of these jerk offs for anything less than another 911 and it would probably have to be cleared at the highest levels before that could happen.

There is a right-wing march/demonstration in the offing scheduled for 9/12, also in D.C., so perhaps scheduling it for the following day is also meant so it functions as a rejoinder.

Posted by: grimmy at August 23, 2009 01:17 AM

I would couple this with Larry Flynt's idea for a national strike. Let those who can get to DC march but the rest of us stay home from work, buy nothing, use no gas, and spend the day writing to Congress telling them to get money out of politics or we will shut the place down again.

My new conclusion (same as the old conclusion) is that anyone who wants anything from the federal government is an ignorant moron. Hey you.. yeah you who are right now thinking about how I'm wrong; I'm talking about you you stupid fucker.

Oh yeah, this goes double for you shitbird conservobots who just want the gov to kill muzlims; at least the left wing dumbasses want positive things.

I wonder how many lifetimes I could spend trying to tell both sides how stupid they are and still get nothing but stupid looks and derision. (I made these comments extra negative to make it easier on you you stupid fat over-priviledged American idiots; but I repeat myself).

anyone who wants anything from the federal government

Is there an emphasis on the word "federal" in this sentence?

Posted by: abb1 at August 23, 2009 12:25 PM

tim, your boilerplate vulgar libertarianism, as when you blather on about Marx, impresses no one. The most charitable interpretation is that you're posting drunk.

Posted by: Save the Oocytes at August 23, 2009 02:54 PM

Nobody knows blathering like someone who would defend Marx, so touche. I guess if I wanted people to listen to me I would copy his style, I could make you believe anything I'm sure. Even my *sniff* vulgar libertarianism. PS if you must label me, how about right, Of course I mean the non-vulgar definition, as in correct.

abb1: I don't know, I wondered the same thing when I was writing it.

Posted by: tim at August 23, 2009 03:21 PM

Drunk by 11, flaming ignorant Marxists by noon. It's like Palm Sunday upside your head.

Posted by: tim at August 23, 2009 03:33 PM

So there's a Taft memorial. Huh.

Oh, I'll bet you've gotten your share of derision over the years; a more self-aware person would think about that.

And I want your mother's Social Security checks back. All of them. NOW, motherfucker.

Posted by: SteveB at August 23, 2009 06:11 PM

Why not? Pretty soon everyone AND their mother won't be getting any period.

I can respect most Leftists as human beings, but certain sentences would get you barbequed in my neck of the woods. Anything I might have said that was offensive was still apt, you're just trying to throw down SteveB. So have fun in the dirt; ants have perfected socialism so you should be right at home.

I can't help the fact that I'm a dork. At least I bathe. I like attention; i need booze and a hug.

Posted by: tim at August 23, 2009 08:09 PM

Hehehe..

Sorry Tim, I don't think anyone here's heard of 50 Cent.

"So there's a Taft memorial. Huh."

Robert Taft, not William H.

Okay, I could understand a William H. Memorial, even if there isn't one--not to many men become President AND Chief Justice.

(Actually, only one did.)

But a memorial for his son Bobby? Wtf??

Posted by: Paul Avery at August 24, 2009 03:09 AM

Robert Taft? Mr. Republican? I'm surprised there aren't 2 or 3. And tim, if you want a a statue, the government is the place to go.

Posted by: drip at August 24, 2009 07:13 AM

Okay, I'll be the one to ask: What's at 950 F Street North West that makes is the end of the route?

Posted by: LarryE at August 24, 2009 07:17 PM

PHARMA headquarters. We should really test it for flame resistance.
